Hunters of Fractyr

Though the nation of Fractyr has its own military and each city has its own guard force, there are those that prefer to avoid the bureaucracy of the governing body called the Remnant and seek to use their talents to achieve more individualistic goals. Such people often gravitate towards the Hunters: a collection of sometimes cooperative, always competitive warriors that felt their services could best be utilized outside the limitations of the guards or military. Many make their living in the best interest of the nation, taking jobs from individuals as well as from the Remnant, guilds, or other organizations to hunt down creatures, persons, or treasures for an appropriate price, filling the role of contract exterminators, lawmen, and treasure hunters for the region. Some are less concerned with public prosperity and fill the roles of assassins, kidnappers, and thieves for the less reputable elements of society, sometimes even working for the Wayward.

Structure

There isn't an official structure to the hunters, but those that are deemed to be the best fighters are typically the leaders. The only exception to this is the Hunter Training Grounds hidden within the forests of Fractyr. Here, experienced Hunters that have lost their Combat superiority, usually due to injuries, devote their time to passing on their knowledge and training new Hunters. These individuals usually garner significant respect within their community despite their fragility.

Culture

Most Hunters are aligned in their goal to help as many as they can without having to worry about whether it is in keeping with the laws of the Remnant. This has created a culture where the most capable set the example and mentor those still honing their skills.

Though still technically Hunters, those that use their skills for more questionable reasons, such as assassinations and thievery, are not respected by other Hunters and are referred to as Dark Hunters or Night Hunters as they rely on shadows and the cover of night to do their work.

Public Agenda

The Hunters have no unified agenda, but they are typically believed to want to do as much good as they can without having to be limited by bureaucracy or over-legislation.
