Children of Areta
The Children of Areta believe that everything is connected through nature and those that respect it will be honored by the gods while those that disrespect or exploit nature will suffer its wrath. In this religion, everyone and everything is a god to some extent, with the more powerful beings or forces being greater than others. Even animals, plants, and forces of nature are included in this. Powerful beasts, deadly predators, mighty trees, great rulers, and strong storms are all revered as greater deities. The head of their pantheon is the three great lights that are believed to have the greatest impact on their world, providing light and warmth when present and leaving the world cold and dark in their absence. Though this religion is widespread throughout the world and is the mother religion of many denominations among Feral populations, the most recognized headquarters of this is in Ohedyn where the largest civilized population of followers resides. The beliefs also closely align with the nation's relationship with the natural world, so, though not official declared as such, it is considered to be the national religion.
The namesake of the religion, Areta, is the name of the known universe, being the prime deity that all of reality consists of. Just as people are made of organs, forests made of trees, and oceans of drops, everything makes up Areta, which is just as alive and conscious as the rest of creation.
