Charge

The Charge mostly consists of a species refered to as Scalekin. Often mistaken as Lizardkin, they most notably stand out with their innate aptitude of magic as well as their ability to gradually alter their appearances. What makes them a truly unique threat, however, is their ability to influence and even control Scalebeasts. Those that run into the Charge will find that they are not explicitly violent. They believe that they are the descendants of a species called Varyn who were sent down to Aroka to tame and rule over it. They also claim that the Scalebeasts, which they call Yn, are their distant relatives who lost their way and became wild beasts of the land. The chaos of the world is due to their lack of involvement and they seek to rectify that by taking charge of the inhabitants of Aroka.  For the most part, they are not cruel or vindictive and welcome anyone willing to bend the knee to their rule. Lizkin, in particular, are embraced due to their apparent similarities and that Scalekin have lived among them peacefully for so long. Part of their core beliefs is that there is another species, called the Yrans, that initially dethroned them as the rightful rulers of Aroka. If this species rose up, the world would plunge into even greater chaos. Essentially, the two species are racing for control of the world, so the Charge are not afraid to threaten or use violence if they believe that not doing so will risk the return of the Yrans.
