Bane

A Bane is the rare offspring of two creatures or sentients of different ancestries. Most of these crossbreeds die young, sometimes during birth and are often sterile. Depending on the community they are born into, prejudice will often lead to untimely demises. Though rare, there are enough of them that manage to live to adulthood, but are usually relegated to the outskirts of society if not banished altogether. Despite their outcast status, Bane that provide a particular usefulness to society, such as having unique abilities or talents due to their mixed ancestry, are often utilized in extreme cases.
While multiple Banes often form their own communities, they numbers tend to draw the attention of other outsiders such as Feral or Scourge tribes, being hunter as prize game. The only exception is in Amyhra where Bane are not formally outcast from society. However, the prejudice of the general public still tends to drive them to form their own community within the city, namely Bane's Burrow.
