Age of Divinity

Though not much is known about the previous age, leading scholars and especially long-lived members of sentient species believe it to be a time where gods and mortals were in close communion with each other. Ancient artifacts and manustripts often allude to gods being actively involved in the lives of mortals. A few even suggest that there was a means by which mortals could become gods. However, based on the standing body of evidence, the truth about this relationship and the potential to ascend to godhood resides beyond the known world. Ventures to explore far away lands have been chartered, but few that ventured out have returned. Those that do tell of narrowly surviving great perils both on land and sea that forced them to turn back.
