MATHZEH (math-zeh)
Overview
The Feast of Mathzeh, or Feast Of Seven Days, is a feast held in the very first month on the Gershonite calendar that is considered the very first month of renewal. It is a seven day feast where bread without yeast is made, and celebrations are held throughout the land in different parts of the nation. Mathzeh is held in celebration for the provisions and blessings that have been given, and what shall be released by the favor of the God of Adonailym (adonai-lym) by the Gershonties. Mathzeh is also celebrated by the Kerrosano people, who have taken to participate in the seven-day feast.Etymology
Mathzeh is a Gershonite term that refers to the requirement that all bread during the feast must be baked without yeast within them, yet allowed to be favored in all the different flavours of bread that the people wish. Various recipes using this type of bread are very popular throughout the feast.History
Mathzeh is connected to the arrival of the Gershonites into the land that they call home, which occurred long before the Old Conflicts. Mathzeh covers the journey of the Gershonites alongside the other tribes that also traveled with them, such as the ancestors of the Kerrosano and Aphran peoples. And how the God of the Adonailym faith aided them in dealing with hostile tribes & monsters that they faced. Throughout the journey, unleavened bread was consumed partly because they had to be ready to respond in a hurry in case of great danger.
Execution
During the Feast of Mathzeh, all participants are required to consume only unleavened bread for seven days. This means that all forms of leaven are to be refrained from usage in every household, and no leaven bread is to be consumed nor found anywhere. All meals can be consumed freely so long as they include unleavened bread during the Feast. Mathzeh is seen as a time of reflection for the favor that the peoples were shown, introspection, and a renewed commitment to the ways of the Adonailym faith.
Components and tools
No special tools nor components are necessarily for the observance of the Feast of Mathzeh, only the requirement of keeping leaven out of all meals involving bread. Everything else is mainly based on the personal preference of the observer.
Participants
The Gershonite and Kerrosano people are the primary observers of mathzeh, having done so for many centuries. They are not the only ones. People from the nations of the Lotus Kingdom & Aphra Union have also participated. Members of the Sigvill tribes have also been known to join in as well.
The Feast are usually conducted with a group of Zethamites being present, as they are specially trained to teach people how to observed Mathzeh properly. However, participants can also conduct observance of the Feast within their homes.
