House Pyke
House Verdway is one of the great houses of the Oreion Inquisition that rules over the north-western region known as the Oth'Gard Coast, with the nearby islands included.
The other noble houses of Oreion have a somewhat mixed opinion of House Pyke. On the one hand, the Pykes provide the Inquisition with many industrious trade routes around Western Arkos and contribute to the country's coffers quite substantially. Their natural affinity to sailing and negotiation make them excellent traders for the economy of the Inquisition. They also house most of the country's warships, maintaining them so that they are battle ready at a moment's notice. On the other hand, the Pykes are regarded as dishonest and cruel at times, rumored to have ties with The Syndicate, while also extolling barbarous punishments to illegal magic users their members manage to apprehend. For these reasons, the house is often at odds with House Dawngrasp.
The symbol of House Pyke is a pair of red sea serpents against a green diamond. This is to represent their sea-faring nature, their trading expertise, and possibly their controversial dichotomy.
