Huru, Common
Biology
Huru originated as an ancient experiment of the creator
Curse. They are the
only race walking on this planet sharing one soul between two bodies. The first body is that of the Huru. The second is that of it's animal companion.
At birth they are born together. Because of this no Huru will have an animal companion of a size bigger than small. When choosing this race
a safe rule to assume would be pick an animal who's birth size is smaller than that of a human baby.
Shared vitality
The Huru and it's companion share vitality. When one eats, so does the other.
When one gets hurt. The same thing applies. It's because of this that when a Huru mother breastfeeds her young
it's spirit animal won't even need to be fed by one of it's own race. It also gives the Huru an advantage against
fighting illness and poison as two bodies are fighting against it.
Shared bond
A Huru and it's companion always instinctively know the location of each other.
Although this most often manifests in knowing in what direction the other can be found.
Secondly they feel what emotions the other is feeling.
Companion Death
when dying of old age a Huru and it's companion most often die at the same time. In cases of untimely death
the body of the survivor is effected deeply. Without it's shared vitality the Huru becomes more vulnerable for diseased.
Most Huru who loose their companions die young because of this. It also places a huge physiological strain on the survivor.
The shock of loosing it's other half might drive a Huru insane. And if they don't, many of them end up severely depressed.
Appearance
They have the size and slenderness of halflings. But are slightly covered in the fur of their animal companion. Their faces
seem human-like in that they are naked and shaped in the same form.
Culture and behavior
The Huru tribes live in harmony with nature. They dislike living in cities and don't have any from their own. They don't know
any real kingdoms and because of this they have often been pushed around by the other races. Their affinity with nature however
allows them to live in places the other races wouldn't want to settle. You can often find tribes of Huru in the deepest wildernesses.
Huru are friendly and open to trade with other races. They are not angry at them for taking some of their lands. Rather they
think it was in their nature to do so. They feel a weird sense of superiority above them because of this. Huru dislike going beneath
the earth and because of this don't have many lasting relationships with dwarves or stoneforged.
Diet
Huru are omnivorous but their personal taste is slightly influenced by the food types their animal companion eats.
This doesn't further influence their opinion on each other. You wouldn't find tribes of solely vegans of carnivores.
Religion
They believe in spirit animals that guide them. (WIP)
