Fireforged

The fireforged, als known as the hatred forged. They are the newest species of forged and the first were created by Sarkan.

History

Creation

Where stoneforged have a gemstone as heart and woodforged have a wooden heart the Fireforged life is fueled by hatred. The canister of it's life essence, this hatred. Is the burned body of the person it was born from. To create a fireforged a person needs to be burned in high flames. While being burned the person should die while feeling nothing but intense hatred and anger. If those feelings are strong and persistent in the dying person a flameforged will emerge from the ashes of the fire.

Reason of Creation

Sarkan created these forged to fight in his army's. They were terrifying foes that wielded fire and brought destruction on the land. The worst about encountering one is that you knew it would never have mercy. Not on your kids, not on anyone.

Founding of Shar'Malun

In their early days the fireforged didn't have a home country. Sarkan used them to fight many battles, giving them a chance to flesh out their potential and hone their skills. He rewarded them greatly and gave purpose to their tormented lives.
Then Sarkan gathered all his fireforged divisions for a strike attack on Malun. The homecountry of the northern Woodforged. The Northern Woodforged were a seclusive species. People who dared crossing their borders often killed without mercy. Only few traders were allowed to speak with them. Many warmongers who dared infading their country in previous times had failed badly. This gained them a degree of respect which left them unharmed from combat for hundreds of years. However, where the others failed, the fireforged didn't.
A large force of fireforged and human soldiers was sent in from multiple directions to set the Woodforged forrest ablaze. Furious for this action the woodforged retaliated and anihalated Sarkans army. But the army had fulfilled their purpose as they were just a distraction. Small bands of fireforged sneaked through the dense forrest, entering unguarded territory. They brought hell to the capital city Malun. Where the great tree of the Northern Woodforged stood tall. They burned down the tree that had set it's roots trough the entirity of Woodforged country. The Tree burned down to the shard of Divinity that had formed at it's core. A cataclysmic event took place. Fire spread through it's roots and suddenly the entire Woodforged country stood ablazed. It was hell born on earth and thus the country for the Fireforged had formed. The corpse of the old tree beeing the skelleton of an everlasting fire. The Eternal Flame. The city was renamed from Malun to Shar'Malun. Which translate to The burned tree in woodforged. After the war the Nothern Woodforged almost all died out. Hunted by bounty hunters. Small tribes live hidden from the world and some have gathered the courage to ask their southern brothers for refugee.

Appeareance

Fire Forged have a humanoid body slightly resembling the one they had in their past life. An former elf would have elfen ears for instance. The creation of Fireforged only seems to support creatures of size medium. Dwarves or gnome bodies would not be able to host the energy and explode. While Giants would be very short lived.
The body is heavily obscured by flames. Fireforged almost all seem the same to outsiders but people of the race itself are easily able to distinguish each others for their burning patterns. The colour of flame can be altered by substances and special types of armor and weapons can be worn.

Culture

Flameforged generally don't stick to one place. The only country they call home is the city Shar'Malun and it's surrounding lands. At this place they gather and sometimes die. The place is ruled by high priestress Sharradin And home to the Eternal flame. This flame hasn't died out in centuries and is a controversial religious object. Flameforged consider it an honor to die in the Eternal Flame and high priestress rarely awards this to loyal subjects.

Food

Fireforged surprisingly eat fire. Where to normal people a fire is, a fire. Sometimes a stinking one. Fireforged sense all different kind of flavors and smells in fire. Different types of fuel provide different types of tastes. The one they enjoy the most is meat or blood mixed in with normal burning fuels like wood or coal. Just eating fire from something like a campire would taste bland. Like a human eating something simple as bread.
To Fireforged some fuel types actually work addictive, like drugs. For instance sulphur gives Fireforged a certain mellow feeling. Something to help ease the hatred inside. Many broken spirits have grown addicted to sulphur. An sulpher addicted Fireforged can be recognised by it's slow burning yellow flamed skin.

Reproductive manners

A fireforged is always born from another subject. And although the first were born by the hands of Sarkan. After the founding of Shar'Malun Fireforged started reproducing themselves. They build great torture chambers where they would burn enemies captured in war. They believe once they defeat someone it is their RIGHT to make them their possession. Tortured enemies would be thrown in the eternal flame and sometimes Emerge as new Fireforged. Creating a fireforged is a specific proces though and most offered prisoners would just end up burning in the flame.

Languages

As the race is relatively new there hasn't been an established language. Fireforged remember the languages they had in their previous life and thus don't all speak the same language.

Subrace: The Ashen

Some Fireforged have decided to relinguish their ways of hatred. With great courage they have stopped consuming fire. Because of this their flames have died down so that all that remains is an ashen black body. A smoldering peace of coal. burning lines of fire burned in their body. In the least they are frowned upon in Fireforged society but most often they are welcomed with instant hostility. They are seen as defiants of their fate. Furthermore it is likely that Ashen have a shorter lifespan due to the inner peace they have found.
