Middling
Known as "The Middling", this is somewhat of a no-man's-land between the Penumbrian Crater States and the Green Halos of the Dusioi. It is a small neighbourhood that if led off the path, ultimately leads to the Pinebarren Cottage through both a physical path and an interdimensional rift.
The Middling was once what was known on Tellus as "cottage country". It served initially as a small getaway during the building of Typhon's infrastructure and the neutralization of its legendary beast. When it was originally built, it served as a "model" village that showcased all of Typhon's technologies and innovations. There was a museum, a court, an Arkadian church, and of course, a lot of shaking hands behind the scenes with the Dusioi.
How did they convince the Dusioi to let them live in the Green Halo? It is the only place where things seem to be at peace. Once it was a more bustling place, but now the market down is a ghost town that leads to certain death, and the residential area is more insular and suspicious of outsiders than ever. Which brings about much difficulty, because the main people who live out there are scientists and doctors whose discoveries are desperately needed in order to improve life for the Crater States.
Still, every holiday for the crater states is held in a town square of the middling, for those particular days it becomes a place where people can meet and learn more about the scientists. Before the festival ends and everyone goes back to forgetting the Middling is there.
The Middling is located in a valley between Morvek and Typhon.
