Zina Fest

In the town of Zinanillo in the central part of Anicarta is a summer festival that was first created to celebrate the city and the bounty of the people. This festival has grown from that to be more well-known across the surrounding area as a huge art festival. This festival is called the Zina Fest. This festival starts on the evening of the summer solstice and ends three weeks later. There are many feasts, plays, markets, dancing, and art.   There are several different markets selling things. Now the biggest of these is the art market. This market is set up in the same location every year. It is next to the Alanis school. The Alanis school focuses on art in its many different forms. While most of the markets are for selling things, the art market is different. Sure the artist sells a little of their art but that is not their main purpose. It is to give the festival goers opportunity. The opportunity to try different art styles or to improve one. Such as painting, and drawing in different mediums and mixed mediums on different surfaces. Also Sculpting, wood carving, textiles, and so on. Each group has its own area for the artist and art students from the school to set up to teach. There each year there is a building that has been cleaned and cleared to be painted or drawn on. These murals are kept until it is needed to be used for the different festival. These paintings, drawings are they are left up for about twenty years before it is to be used again.   In other places in the festival, there are designated places for people to also draw using chalk and other erasable materials. These places are footpaths or sometimes business owners will open up their buildings to them. Many of these drawings last until the first rains in the fall.   Overall the festival which started out as just a celebration for the city has become a huge draw for tourists and artists wanting to either explore their creative side or deepen it.
