Sunset Flash or Dawn Pop

Along the east and west coast of Anicarta and the nearby islands, there is a rare natural phenomenon that occurs. They are called Sunset Flash or Dawn Pop. It is a flash of light at either sunset or dawn. At sunset it is just as the sun disappears there is a flash of bright blue light. At dawn right before the sun rises there is a pop or flash of green/blue light. The Dawn Pop is thought to be rarer than the Sunset Flash because more people have seen the Sunset Flash. However, the phenomena are probably even. Those that study weather other phenomena are still unsure why this happens. They are not even sure of what conditions need to be for it to happen. As people have seen it in all of the seasons, and all types of weather. The only thing that they do know is that it happens.
In the islands, there are a few myths about the Sunset Flash and Dawn Pop. However, the locals all keep a watchful eye on them and see them as a bringer of good luck. Those along the east coast of Anicarta there is just one tale. It is a tale of lovers. They were separated by jealous rivals who had the ear of the lover's parents. The parents set the lovers with jealous rivals. The Lovers ran away from these arranged marriages meeting at the sea. As they met they find that they were followed by one of the jealous rivals. Just as the sun sets a fight begins with a flash of magic. This fight continues until the first light of dawn when the lovers win with another flash or latter known pop of magic and successfully escape into the sea. The start and end of the fight were said to be so bright that it was reflected in the sky to this day. When these phenomena happen people say oh lovers are about to win or that they have won. On the west coast, the tale or belief slightly varies between the towns and cities. The overall feeling though is that it is either a blessing from the gods for the day or a protection for the evening.
However, you look at it when the Sunset Flash or Dawn Pop is seen it is quickly spread throughout the area as a happy and good thing.
