Harvest Festival

This festival is a bit more solemn than the Festivals of Coins and the Vine. This is primarily a feast-day, where the bounty of the earth is appreciated. Though small game and game birds may be served, the real emphasis is on fruits and vegetables of every kind. Contests for largest squash, best pie, and best preserves (among countless others) are common. Also, contests involving working farm animals (horse-pulls, pig-catching, etc.) are typically found in the country, though rarely in the larger cities. The festival culminates with a lavish feast, usually provided through the efforts of extended families coming together to share their bounty with one another. (The Harvest Festival is a very lonely time to be without family.) This festival is holy to Iiran, Hrerir, Gernir, and Ja’kinnor.
