Festival of the Sky

The Festival of the Sky takes place on Adai 2, a day that is holy to Ral, Dal, and Estir. Many people begin this festival the previous night by staying up late to watch the stars. Kite-flying and picnics are very popular on this day. Also, hawking is popular. It is considered bad luck to kill or eat any flying creature on this day (though it is not considered bad luck for a falconer’s raptor to bring down another bird). Just after midnight, the Festival of the Bonfire begins, and a huge bonfire is lit in every community.
