Festival of the Hunt
Holy to Welir, Iiran, and Hrerir, this is a day for thanking the Spirits for the bounty of the hunt. Similar in tone to the Harvest Festival, this day is a reminder that the bounty of the earth is not only in its fruits but also in the game animals it supports. Many hunt on this day, and a feast featuring many different kinds of game is held in the evening. Frequently this is a community (in towns and villages) or group (in cities) feast, where the bounty of many hunters are shared by all. This helps assure a variety of game will be available. It is considered a very ill omen and the harbinger of a harsh Winter ahead if game is scarce or a hunting party is unsuccessful on this day.
