Festival of the Flowers

Ahmak 1, the first day of the Summer Solstice celebrations, hosts the popular Festival of the Flowers. This day is also holy to Ral and Gernir. Popular events on this festival-day include dances around the Flower-Pole (May-pole a “slave auction” where male volunteers are “sold” to the highest bidder; a “bouquet auction” where bouquets and flower arrangements are auctioned off along with the hand (for the evening) of the lady who arranged them; and the Flower-Day Dance (where successful bidders at the flower and slave auctions dance with the ladies or gentlemen they have “won” for the evening).
