New Haven

New Haven is growing town approaching city-state levels (ala Crystallis, Xantheril, Nexus) that rests along the northern road between Crystallis and Nexus. It was also the last junction before the western road to Duodecim before it fell.
  The town's identity is one of being thrown into the front of many conflicts. Over the last 20-30 years it has been the site of infernal invasion, the first town to be hit by the demonic behemoth 'Reth' and the horde of demonic creatures, rethlings. Evacuated and left to ruin during the war, the town was left largely untouched by the creatures outside of unfocused destruction.
  The town itself had, and has, rich resources of magical protections. Lamp posts with warding crystals dot the cobblestone roads providing light and protection. Many people after the war were displaced and a fair amount settled back in New Haven to rebuild. It is a town where you can see elves, dwarves, humans, gnomes. The magical and the mundane. Farmers and fighters. As the name suggest it has always become a 'Haven for all'. It is known for having artifacts protecting it that go beyond even the Academy at Crystallis or the Elvish City-State of Xantheril, gathering interest from both. The town refers to these immovable wards as 'Paulo's Protection' and a statue to this figure is displayed in the town square.
