Murinechire

Pronunciation - /MYUHR-in-shier/   The trade-city of Murinchire sits in what may be the most advantageous position on the entirety of the Seddenese continent, and is the capital of Muria. Founded hundreds of generation ago by mousefolk whose lineages are now traced back through complex and dense mercantile dynastic trees, the city has grown, inch by inch, into the beating heart of trade on any and every continent. Ocean currents carry goods both into and out of the city with sometimes startling efficiency, where docks of all patronage, wealth, and reputability service the needs of clientele across Sedden, and throughout Argent, for a high enough price.

Bluffdocks

Murinechire's growth has been almost fungal in the speed with which it grows up and out from the overcrowded core. Floors upon roofs upon bridges upon sewers plunge down from the aristocratic sunlit top of the city deep into its underbelly, populated by the impoverished citizens in their millions doing their best to survive by any means available to them. Crime thrives in the undercity of Murinechire, and stereotypical cadres of ratfolk skitter about in the company of all manner of other players of all racial origin. Adherence, if not outright worship of Shi'para obviously goes without saying, but the proclivity of the Murinechire culture for deals, trade, or otherwise bartering means that there is a healthy respect for the authority of Varyjon as well.

Undercity

While the inner city sprawls ever upward in the need to cram further and further generations of folk into every available hole in the wall that they can be housed, the city also serves to expand itself ever outward as well to enable ever expanding trade needs for clientele of all shapes and sizes. The construction of the areas further out often take on much less metropolitan stylings, while those simply on the rim of the city have a much more quaint representation of the upper city as boardwalks line canals with street-level access to storefronts providing every conceivable amenity and good.

Riverwalk

Murinechire was founded on the flow of trade from city of Filyn'Drast all the way out to Coraar and Crustai on the island of Iquonial and as perhaps might be expected this encouraged the formation of complex methods of barter, investment, and banking to serve the substantial financial needs of such endeavors. Mousefolk took to this readily, building extremely well-crafted vaults that only creatures of their size could properly use, fronted by opulent branches to lend and change the vast amounts of currency that flow through the city every single day. For all their difficulty with size, it is no secret that the mousefolk that built Murinechire still soundly rule it to this day on the back of their industrious work, and the backs of their countrymen who fill the undercity and scrape to support the ever-forward progress of trade.
