Urza the Orange Sage
Urza was once an elf born at the end of the Age of Myth where he served Yaro the Wandering Star as his apprentice until he ascended at the dawn of the Age of Heroes.
Urza was a known tinkerer at an early age, and he had a distinct knack for matters of the arcane. It came to a point where he became the most renown crafter of wondrous items. He was the first Wizard to enscribe magic onto paper, and he was the inventor of many potions and oils still produced and used today.
It was little doubt that Urza was unique, and he was for nearly an age and a half. He ascended to immortality and became the Demigod of Artifice, Alchemy and Scribing. He played some smaller roles in the war between future Sages, Nymarga the Worm King and Prince Mishra of Silvermoon. It was during the war between these two that he lost the last of his mortal line: Tawnos the Tinkerer was an old childhood friend to Mishra, and he tragically lost his life battling the first necromancer's lieutenants Leshrac the Blackheart and the fleshcrafter, Endrek Sahr. At the end of the Age of Heroes, Urza the Orange was instrumental in locating and helping to rescue his old master Yaro from the clutches of who would become the last of the Sages, then called Riga the Magnificent.
He also was a close friend and confidant to Islik the Intercessor, and much later, as one of the most prominent allies of Islik the Divine King. Now, he has a tarnished reputation amongst the adherents of the Old Faith, but is revered as a veritable saint within both sects of those who worship the Divine King. As a result, the most common current depiction of Urza is as a human -- in elven lands, his images are defaced to remove his pointed ears; in orcish lands, what few depictions existed were destroyed.
