The Brigden Ford Zocalo
The Kingdom of Eos is a realm of laws. Those laws do maintain a good standard of order and justice, but it also restricts the flow of goods and services that many outsiders need, desire, or even come to expect as a normal course of life. Locals refer to the Black Market by the elven name for a market -- zocalo.
Assets
1. Moneychanging - The Zocalo only uses coins of electrum for their exchanges, they are traded at a cost between 5% and 15% of trade-in value by the time a purchaser buys in and cashes out.
2. Weapons and Armour - Military weapons are highly restricted in the cities and towns in the Kingdom, armour is also restricted without a voucher written by a recognized authority. Crossbows are perhaps the most controlled, restricted only to sanctioned guards, mercenaries or soldiers of the Kingdom, but enchanted weapons and armour are also covered.
3. Forgery of Documents - Skilled document forgeries are sold at a premium, to a point where some nobles actually operate indirectly through the Zocalo. Those vouchers end up being the most valuable.
4. Books and Maps - Some books are banned, still more are very hard to find, and even accurate maps are controlled.
5. Alchemical Items - The Zocalo often offers better prices than those offered by the Arcanum. In addition, they offer items that are restricted under Kingdom Law.
7. Gems and Magical Components - Magical components are bundled, usually; but they are controlled in monopoly by the Arcanum in Eos. Also, all precious stones and gems are controlled by a jeweller's guild that is very tight with both the Arcanum and the Church of the Divine King. Certain gems, especially diamonds, are monopolized in legal society and thus can be much more expensive than in other locations.
8. Sumptuary Goods - From dyes like purple, to spices like cinnamon, to textiles like silk, there are laws that restrict access of goods all but the nobility. Even certain food and drink like quality wines, particular cuts of beef, certain types of bread, and even quantities of tea and coffee are all restricted to the nobility, the Church, and the Arcanum. These stalls are by-far the largest assortment of goods available at the Zocalo.
9. Services - If you can think of it, and it's fun, it's probably illegal in Eos.
