Metara

On the southernmost tip of the peninsula is the imperial province of Metara (Old Havlic: Métara, Lerúktio Métario). The ancestral home of the Yeleni people before being driven back during the unification wars in the early years of Emperor Ngavlitsias' reign.
After unifying the Havlian kingdoms and city-states, Ngavlitsias took over the rest of the peninsula which caused the forced migration of the Yeleni people. Most Yeleni fled to the Yelana Isles, some migrated further east, those that remained on the mainland faced a great degree of discrimination and segregation. Why Ngavlitsias conquered Metara in a matter of debate to this day. Some say he was coaxed into it by southern nobles, some say he had no part to play in the conquest. Whatever the answer may be the result remains the same, thousands of Yeleni lost their homes and thousands more Havlians migrated into the region.
During the reign of Emperor Ixosonipsa the Yeleni of Metara were given greater rights and many were given land so long as they helped the Empire integrate the Yelana Isles.
