Session 32/33: Into the Obstacle Course
General Summary
The Gauntlet Grinds On
We thought the Blazing Gauntlet would be a trial of traps and puzzles—turns out it was a sprawling, ever-shifting battlefield of ego, flame, and sheer madness. We spent more time getting split up and reuniting than a dysfunctional bard troupe on tour.Warby vs. the Daggerbrands
Warby stormed off northeast, eyes locked on those smug snake-charmers from the Daggerbrands. He didn’t just beat them—he embarrassed them. I think one of them cried. Their last act of defiance? Activating their oversized bear totems and getting hauled off the field like sulking children. One down.Goq Ghosts the Ashwinds
Meanwhile, Goq bumped into the Ashwinds in some twisty corner of the maze. I expected sparks to fly, but instead both sides just vanished. Mutual stealth checkmate. The kind of respect only two quiet killers can share. The Golem Nobody Wanted
The real menace, however, was the adamantine golem stomping around like a toddler made of war crimes. Every time we turned a corner: boom, there it was again. We played the world’s deadliest game of peekaboo with it all day and somehow didn't die.Sunny vs. the Dead Guy in a Hole
Sunny vaulted over a pit, which would’ve been impressive if it hadn’t activated a death rune on his head. That rune, by the way, summoned a very polite vampire named Zorak, who decided Sunny was now his fated quarry. Sunny was not amused. Zorak was.The Painted Paladin
Warby had another detour—fought a former champion who leapt out of a painting, loudly demanding “honorable single combat.” So of course, Warby immediately ran away and brought the rest of us. Good call, honestly. The guy hit like a frost giant on pre-workout. We won, eventually, and he bailed with one of those old-school bear totems. Vintage. The Dragon Stolgan
Then came the big one: Stolgan. Ancient red dragon, surprisingly articulate, and very on fire. The fight was an inferno—walls melting, smoke everywhere, him hurling flames like they were insults. But in the end, we brought him low. He conceded honorably and gave us the Cinder Crown—a relic worth two victory points. One crown to rule them all.The Other Relics
While Warby and I were busy not dying, Sunny casually walked through fire and plucked the Frostbrand Icon from a brazier like he was picking up groceries. Dulb, meanwhile, sweet-talked a glowing golden statue and secured the Ember Sigil. Easy as pie."Death? Oh, He’s Already Dead."
Oh, and remember the death rune hunting Sunny? Dulb straight-up lied to it. Told it Sunny was already dead. The rune believed him. The rune believed him. Zorak even accepted it and walked off into the lava with a smile. I cannot make this up.Victory… and a Choice
With all three icons in hand, we emerged as champions. But here's the catch—only one of us gets to bask in the Eternal Flame. The Cinder Crown alone could carry any of us to victory. Now we’ve got to decide who gets the honor. Sera
