Session 23: The Eldertree Forest

General Summary

(From Sera's Perspective)

Grimol's Arrival

Grimol was as jovial and boisterous as ever. He strode up to us, immediately laughing with Goq like they had just been adventuring yesterday. His stories came in quick bursts between swigs from a flask, and it didn’t take long for the rest of the party to warm up to him. I admit, his presence was reassuring, especially given our recent encounters with dangerous forces and their ties to the gods. However, after catching up and gathering supplies, Grimol wandered off to a local tavern (no surprises there), while the rest of us focused on our next steps.

Gathering Information

Eastwind seemed nearly as overwhelming as Illuminar at times, and gathering information here is like trying to catch the wind. The locals were forthcoming, but only if you spoke the right language—or knew the right approach. Dulb’s attempts to mingle were… unique, to say the least. His lack of high common made things difficult, but somehow, he managed to learn about the Eldertree, an ancient and conscious entity at the heart of the forest. They said it was wise, though fickle, and we would need to prove ourselves worthy to seek its aid.
Armed with this information, we regrouped with Grimol and prepared to set out for the Eldertree Forest.

Departure

I, however, could not join them. My vision had been taken in the battle with Vethisthar, the Sky Dragon. While I’ll recover in time, traversing a forest riddled with dangers was beyond my abilities in this state. I entrusted the party to press forward without me, confident that they could handle whatever lay ahead. For now, I rest and wait for their safe return.

Chungle Log: Tomato Three

Into tha Forest

Chungle heer. Is this workin? Yesh? Gud. Chungle rite now. Not gud at ritin, but do it anyway. Tomato three is important log. Why? Cuz Chungle go’d into scary forest! Party folloed, but Chungle was hiddin. Like leaf on tree. No one saw me.
Party find leafy man-thing. Leshy! He call’d Yarow. Funny name, huh? Yarow say, “Three prollems. U fix. Then big Eldertree talk to u. Maybe.” Spirit held by pretty laydee. Big shadow thing ruin cherry trees. And Eldertree being all confusing bout something called Verdunt Willos. Simple, rite? No. Forest is weird. But Chungle is sneeky. Chungle is ready.

Grimol's Frens

We find camp! Was Grimol’s frens. Or they camp, at least. Empty. No peeple. Jus old stuffs and jernal. Lusy-someone went bak to town or maybe ran away. Wren n sum others went deeper into forest. Chungle doesn’t kare. Grimol sad tho. Probably miss his frens. Chungle miss… nothing. Chungle only like tomatoes.

Ghost Stamps of Death

We walk’d south. Found weird animul skulls! Big, scary beast heads starin at us. Warby spott’d them an say “Those is weird!” Dulb? Dulb just walk’d up like it no big deel. Then it happenn—ghosts! Big beast ghosts ran at us, roaring n stomping like big loud thunder. They HURT. But party won. So, Chungle won. Gud job, Chungle.

The Cherry Blossom Spirit

Next, we find cherry blossums! Pretty trees, like ones Chungle see in stoorybooks. But there was lodge too. Looked like sumone lived there. Party get close, an there was laydee. She look’d like Grimol’s fren Wren, but sumthin was wrong. Chungle hid. (Smart move, rite?) Turns out, she wasn’t Wren. She was succubus! Name Fate’s Prophet.
She was pritty, but mean. Like, reely mean. She controll’d Warby’s mind with magic and made him attack Goq and Grimol! Then Chungle help! (Not reely. Chungle hid mor.) Warby broke free from magic, tho. Gud job, Warby.
Then there was a spirit laydee near succubus. A cherry blossum spirit! She help’d succubus cuz of magic card thing. Dunno how that werk. Magic is weird.

Succubus Truble

Party attack’d succubus! She kiss’d peeple. Not nice kisses. BAD ones! Drain’d their strenk. Chungle stay’d hidin, waiting for rite moment to strike. Everyone try’d to pin her down, but she jus kept healin! And kissing! Eww. Chungle no like this plan.
But don’t wurry. Chungle is SMART. Chungle jump out and help when it safe. Until then, Chungle watches. And waits.
