Sequential Transmutative Arcane Suffusion
Sequential Transmutative Arcane Suffusion, also known as STAS, is a relatively recent development in the enchantment and powering of objects and mechanisms. It makes use of the fact that certain forms of magical energy, especially elemental, can be stored in greater amounts with less instability than other types of magic. STAS allows an object, weapon, or other such thing to store magical energy as one type of energy (generally elemental in order to maximize capacity) and be altered into another form via latent enchantments.
That is only the first part of the technology. The second is the physical implementation of these concepts and principles. Specifically, by transmuting the energy types, it makes the resultant energy (assuming it is inherently less stable than the initial energy) much more concentrated than it otherwise would be. By sequentially transmuting the energy in separate concentric circles arranged in a tube with the final sequence located within the first circle, it even further concentrates, strengthens, and propels the energy from the center outwards through the tube. From that point, as the final concentrated arcane energy is propelled outwards, it pulls the energy that is stored in the rings with it, giving this concentrated pulse the power of all of the energy within the STAS system.
Such a method of arcane suffusion or propulsion has allowed for the creation of long-range arcane firearms as well as the powering of complex mechanisms that require great amounts of energy in order to be powered.
What an interesting concept. I really like systems like these with really scientific magic systems. Great work!
Thanks!!
