Holy City of Acciano
Resting upon the Holy Isle of Acciano in the great salt lake known as the Sea of Trials, the Holy City is the home of the Prince of Hosts and his household.
Government
The Prince of Hosts functions as the king of Acciano. All residents of the Isle are members of the Prince's household, and as such owe him no taxes. The Isle draws tithes of the nine other kingdoms: amounts and frequency are determined by the King of Kings.
History
The Holy Isle is supposedly the spot where the first King of Kings descended to earth, charged by the Host of Hosts to bring order to the land. No one knows when this happened, but some legends say it was this King who erected the first cairns on the Isle in worship to the Hosts. When the first known travelers sailed across the Sea of Trials to reach Acciano, they found such cairns upon it, but no one who might have built them.
When Regradis the Great, the hundred-and-first King of Kings, began the Northern Conquest, he sailed to the Holy Isle and beseeched a priest there to bless him. Most legends say this priest was the Prince of Hosts. Some call him the first Prince of Hosts. Other suggest his inheritors became the Princes of Hosts. As Regradis conquered more of what would become North Monos, he continued to send wealth back to the Holy Isle. This money was used to build the Holy City.
