Session Five

The party ended last session on a request by Lady Ayda's courtier Valmira requesting they escort her to Saro to deliver a message.
Saro's Lord Oltan recently died suddenly and Lady Ayda has been called on to help choose the new heir. There are two twin heirs, the Princess Jora and the Prince Kadir. Since they were twins there is no elder child and traditionally the line has been martiarcal but the court is pushing to remove this law. Valmira has been sent to give the Lady Ayda's blessing to one candidate and is going to ask the party to help her choose.
Jora is graceful and well tutored on history and the culture of her people. She is charitable and well liked but has a terrible appreciation for funds and costs of running things. The court often has lavish parties to sate her whims. Kadir is warlike and gruff but has a deep respect for the poor and wants to improve the world around him. He wants to extend the boundaries of Saro and secure it against the bandits. This will greatly anger the Oasis States who had a free movement of slaves deal through this land.
There are many courtiers for them to ask about the pair: A gossiping lady in waiting for Jaro will tell all about her secret trists with the stable hand and how that makes her an unsuitable match for a political marriage A Musician will tell of the lavish parties that have made them very rich. They will also mention the illicit trade in drugs and wine that has thrived thanks to Jaro A ambassador from the Oasis States will mention how Jaro is their preffered candidate and extol her virtues as a ruler Most of the court will talk badly about Kadir, he does not have the nobles favour but by speaking to the cooks/gaurds and other staff they will hear how he takes a genuine interest in their lives and makes small efforts to improve it for the better Aril - head of the palace gaurd
The party may notice a Razor assassin sent to kill both candidates to allow the Oasis states to place a better puppet (a cousin) on the throne. This assassin can be stopped but is a Godbound of the murder word.
If the party choose to endorse Kadir, the Oasis states ambassador will set a band of slavers on them as they return home and threaten to halt all trade with the Lady Ayda. Kadir will raise taxes and improve the infrestructure of the city, they will survive an attack and be able to aid the Lady Ayda going forward. If the Party chooses Jaro, the nobles will be happy but the city of Saro will quickly fall into disrepair and be easily anexed by the Oasis States in 6 months
Tiaset tries to wake up Kepri by throwing a pillow at her, it is not working very well. But eventually she is awoken and Tiaset appologizes for her outburst the night before. Khepri assumes they fucked but is told they didnt. much flirting Dante goes on an excursion to see if it is possible to assasinate the twins and finds someone else has also looked into it
the party intergates the twins overwhealmingly prefers Kadir and decides to endorse him. also works out the assassin situation and such. Khepri is concerned as the ambassador has maybe twigged who she is and so he kinda has to die but also dipolmatic incident.
the party chooses Kadir and he is selected. Dante spots the assassin in a hallway and gives chase, prodding Caldr with his kinves of night. Only Tiaset notices whats up and encourages the party to give chase. next session we begin with Dante vs Assassin! assassin fight! while the rest of the party hurries to his aid
Start with assassin stand off, assasin name is Felice del Castoro, the party defeats him and the veteran soldiers who acompany him (they surrender) the head of the gaurd is called and the party told off for starting a fight at a conrronation. they are escorted from the city under gaurd and valmira meets them at the city gates later with their bags and the convoy.
they head to Kamo to see lady Ayda as planned and Khepri and Caldir are pretty pissed about being told off for doing their jobs. Ayda reasures them and invites Khepri to sit on the throne next to her which Khepri accepts. Caldir is pretty shaken at the mention of Daphne.
Tiaset is warned that Mahu is looking for her. Caldir is promised protection and a space to grow. Khepri is given two favours from Ayda
khepri is looking for Meripe, she is the jember to the ayda, scholar probably in the oasis states, khepri calls in favour for knowledge of where she is
