Kyrant ('kaɪ.ɹænt)
Kyrant is the human kingdom in the southwest region of the The Alliance. It is bordered by ocean on its west and south borders, by Atarin to the East, and by Indalifa to the North. Its capital is Selinos, the holy city dedicated to the god of the same name. The capital city is ruled by three dukes under the king: Duke Asper, Duke Mavro, and Duke Valar. The members of this tribunal are elected by votes from the noble class. Although they do not always stay within families, it is not uncommon for a duke to be succeeded by his heir as in the Elven tradition.
Structure
Kyrant is ruled by a king, who resides in Selinos. There are also three dukes of Selinos who assist the king. Each city is also ruled by a duke, while smaller villages are ruled by Counts. The Kyrantian military is headed by the royal commander, who answers directly to the king and holds power over all soldiers who have sworn fealty directly to the king. However, the champion, who is the military leader of the Knights of Selinos, is also a part of the king's court, and he answers both to the king and to his own code of conduct as defined by his fealty to the Kyrantian deity Selinos.
