The gnome kingdom of Indalifa is the northernmost of the three nations of the Alliance. It is bordered by the Gemstone Mountains to the north and the Great Forest of Cemrys to the west. It is ruled by Queen Zuyi II.
Structure
Indalifa is ruled by a monarch, an inherited title who resides in Zymph. Each city in Indalifa has a duke or duchess who presides over it under the monarch, usually accompanied by a council. The dukes and duchesses are inherited titles, and the council is appointed by the duke. Smaller towns in Indalifa are governed by an elected mayor and town council. In all cases, whether elected, appointed, or inherited, ruling titles in Indalifa are held for life. In combination with the long lifespan of gnomes, this results in an almost universally venerable ruling class. If a gnome is next in line for a title, his primary goal in life is often simply to outlive his parents, and this is no easy task.
