How is the topic of piracy viewed by different societies in your world?
There are a range of views depending on which society one is part of. For example, in Ampleforth they send ships to the Hidden Valley and are a key part of that trade route so pirates are a big problem, especially now the white dragon has been dealt with.
There is a group of "pirates" who've started saving people from vessels in distress. The Crew of the Dragonscale have been rescuing those who've come into trouble on the water and those rescued are now singing their praises and saying they have changed their ways.
The Saltbath Devils are despised by all who have trade, business or otherwise need to traverse the seas. As is the Crew of the Jolly Marauder. Despite their moniker, the Jolly Marauders are not so jolly... And have started a landlubbing crew as well to help with their various misdeeds and further their reach. The U.G.L.Y. Company and the crew of the Forgotten Dagger are also on their way to becoming infamous.
