Combination Warship

Combinations ships are a type of ship capable of fulfilling the roles of both an airship and a starship, as well as able to cross through an atmosphere to go from a planet into outer space. Though combination ships are much more expensive than either airships or starships, they are the preferred vessels, by far, by military groups all across the stars for their versatility.   Though the title Warship covers many varieties of military vessels, there are a few common features. All larger warships carry smaller vessels, which are often combination ships that are not capable of crossing an atmosphere and escaping the gravitational pull of the planet. These smaller vessels may launch from the larger warship in order to complete more precise maneuvers and to dogfight with other small combat vessels. Larger warships are also equipped with cannon guns, which are heavy weaponry that fire powerful magic bolts that can travel through space. All vessels carry light guns, which fire smaller bolts, often magic bolts, though some fire physical projectiles.   Each prominent military has their own twist on combination warships. Aikhuluran ships tend to be sleek and elegant, though a little heavier and slower than other similar ships. Kanotak military vessels carry their own magic cores, like many Kanotak vessels, but unlike others, Kanotak warships can weaponize their cores if needed.   Some combination ships are used by civilians, but civilian ships differ from military warships. To begin, civilian vessels have cargo holds with a completely different design in mind. Warships that carry smaller craft are designed to allow those smaller vessels to launch at a moment's notice. Civilian ships are only designed for loading and unloading while docked. Few civilian vessels are capable of allowing a launch while in space, because they lack any way to keep the air in the cargo hold from escaping into space the moment the external cargo doors are opened.
