The Forsaken Bog - Day 11
General Summary
Archy is taking these notes *VERY* late, so there will be some errors (I am tired).
Essentially the heroes awoke to discover:
1. Thistle is missing 2. They’re surrounded by traps
Soren accidentally triggered one of said traps. Unknown to him and the others, Thistle was able to get inside it. While this didn’t disarm the trap, she did set off all the others in the area. It was enough for them to see where not to go. And suspiciously it lead them straight to the Orphanage. Thistle rode along on Soren, it was her only safe way to go, especially while being shrunken so very tiny (she’s a flea to the others). She attempted to get their attention with a skywrite spell, but that failed.
At the Orphanage, they meet Abbigail who’s immediately interested in the heroes and especially Jane. Unfortunately her interest in Razor Beak is cut short when the cat tries to bite her hand off. He doesn’t like her at all. That could be a problem.
Abbigail has one of the boys guide the heroes to a monster, a possible place Thistle could have wound up. The creature is WELL above their abilities, but still they Triumph. Thistle, though unseen delivers the killing blow to the creature’s heart. She is cursed/poisoned by a black ooze afterwards, with yet unknown consequences.
After the monster, their guide offers to show them a fairy fountain, though this doesn’t go any better. They’re attacked by a ranger there who insists Abiggail, the Orphanage is up to no good. He is however, extremely paranoid about things. He temporarily restrains all but Alistair (who ends up fighting the Ranger briefly). It is difficult to convince him to calm down with the group. The boy from the orphanage remains restrained, but disappears, causing the Ranger to run off after him.
With little other choice, the heroes return to the Orphanage, establish a camp outside, and Alistair fortifies himself. Still, the orphanage sends out food, too bad its tainted. The heroes are incapacitated. Perfect for capturing.
