OwlVenture - Day 26
General Summary
The heroes are awoken to something climbing the tree. On quick investigation, they discover FLAMING SQUIRRELS. They're not exactly malicious, but the flames are causing trouble. The heroes are eventually able to lure them off the tree, while Thistle uses her power over Water to put out the tree. Though this does lead to the heroes jumping from the tree.
Things are worse on the ground, where they hear a screaming giant approach. It's Soren, being hunted by some form of mutant wasps. This is going perfectly. Three of the wasps peel off to fight the heroes. During the battle, they face many challenges, including dodging (and often failing to dodge) Soren when he comes crashing through. This quickly leads to the defeat of the three wasps that had gone after the heroes, now they have to wrangle Soren.
Ashe is able to jump up on Soren, though the others aren't so successful.
They're able to buy time and trip Soren. Shortly afterwards, he shrinks down to the same size as the others. He used some of the potion the owls had to make a temporary anti-shrinking potion. Just enough to catch up with the heroes. This however leaves the heroes having to worry about the menacing wasps that they've not yet defeated.
Around this time, spiders join the group. Hundreds of them. They act strangely and possess magic. They've successfully fried a wasp, while Thistle is able to capture the other two in an entanglement (snacks for the spiders now).
The heroes are lead to the Spider Queen and she dispenses some valuable intel.
