Battle for the City - Day 14

General Summary

The heroes are joined in part by Thorne. He is a noble who's on a quest to kill Kings and other royalty across the land. Whether the rebellion succeeds or not, he plans to kill the King here too. The heroes end up in a fierce battle, down on numbers with Soren still being small. Thistle at least is getting the hang of her new size and causing quite a bit of damage.

Battles rage all over the city as eight other rebel camps send soldiers into the fray. There are seemingly no city guards fighting back. The heroes end up fighting in a small skirmish before making their way to the castle. There, they discover the guards have it locked down. Until the fire giant kills the guards. Another battle breaks out, with Thorne fighting the giant. It is pure chaos on all sides.

By the end, the giant is slain. Thistle has traumatized a poor Gnoll. And the heroes have a meeting with the King. It is by sheer luck that the King convinces Thorne to spare him. The heroes are then given a quick briefing of what comes next: Miller has found an ancient library that can help Jane, but the only knowledge of it lay in a cemetary. A cemetary where a cult is trying to raise an evil King. Of course. Miller will stall the cult, buying the heroes time to rest up. The King gives the heroes a few days of luxury in his castle.
