Daimyo/Junekinus/Minor General

Qualifications

You must be the leader of a clan that has taken control of the prefecture. For Example Todowansi Dokokanta had conquered the largest area which is known as the Dokokanta prefecture. Often a Daimyo will have professional combat experience in strategy, leadership, several weapons and armours and in the arts aswell.

Requirements

You must be a strong leader under the eyes of the Shogun or your followers, with professional combat experience in duels, battles and even wars.

Appointment

A special ceremony is held once nominations for a Daimyo are placed. The Daimyo will line up and bow before the Shogun. The Shogun will give the new Daimyo the sword Yoshtursheg , where they will each read of a part of the vows they as Daimyo must take. Then the Shogun shows them a special Cobalt medallion in which they must hold and pass onto each other, and then back to the Shogun. Once this is done a feast is held for the Daimyo containing an assortment of vegetables, meats, wines, breads and desserts.

Duties

As mentioned in the vows   'You are obligated to help the river.'   'You are obligated to help your people'   'You are obligated to lead with wisdom.'   'You are obligated to take care of your partners and/or your children'   'You are obligated to take your blade to defend rather than harm others'   'You are obligated to keep our tradition as well as progressing our laws'   'You are obligated to provide for your people'   'You are obligated not to harm your people.'   'You are obligated to serve your shogun.'   'And you are obligated to die if you break such rules'

Responsibilities

The Daimyo serves as a sort of mayor to the town, making sure that the people are in check and controlling the police and their own military force. They also must give the people the ability to voice their opinions to the Shogun and the Emperor.

Benefits

You are one of the highest classes on the feudal hierarchy, and thus have access to lots of treasures of other prefectures which they may have conquered.

Accoutrements & Equipment

The Daimyo wear a special court uniform similar to the Sōninkan but with a fusion of the jinabori and with side shoulder plates known as sode. There is also a white sash that identifies itself as the Daimyo.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

A person can be dismissed by assassination, protest and murders. Many assassins were made to take down the prefectural leaders including an independent clan of spies under a samurai leader.

History

After the First Imperial War, The Archipelago of Seasons had free borders for generals to conquer, and thus there were many invasions and favours of the emperor, but after the Yosokuso rebellion clear borders defined by the rivers were set by Oasi Dakded/Osi Daded with the Daimyo to rule over them.

Cultural Significance

Each Daimyo is considered the lowest tier of gods, powerful but easily controlled compared to the Witches, the Shogun, the 5 beasts and the Astrological Gods. Because of this, they have a lot of power over the regular people but not as much as the witches or the shogun.
