Requiem's Reunification

After the fall of Antecea, Requiem became a fractured land of tiny, feudal kingdoms largely keeping to themselves or squabbling over land and resources. It wasn't until the rise of a prominent warlord named Eero Hengellen did the pieces of the shattered heart of Antecea begin to reform.

Hengellen claimed to be a prophet of the Trinity of deities Sigil, Cognance, and Penance. Regardless of the legitimacy of his divine preclusion, he proved a cunning diplomat and won many lords to his side with a promise of a new, united Requiem that would reclaim the lost glory of Antecea. As he grew in popularity and his military grew, he was able to "persuade" the remaining holdouts into joining his coalition. After a decade of growing his influence, Hengellen and his followers were ready to take back the lost great cities of Orsus, Sinurbis, and Aditum (Sigil, Cognance, and Penance, as they would later come to be called).   After decades of expansion and conquest, the last of the three, Sinurbis, is reclaimed and Requiem is again reunited under the Haedian Empire. Hengellen would not live to see the fruition of his ambition, but his mantle was passed to his sons. When his eldest proclaimed that he had found Hengellen's reincarnation, his legacy gained divine providence in the eyes of his subjects.
