The Logios Empire

The Logios Empire was a multi-cultural nation that controlled land from Western Kentro to the Sylvanlands and the Verge. Before the Anteceans, it was the single largest empire to span Archaios. Theirs was a peaceful society, dedicated to magical study and implementation. They were the first (aside from the Former) to successfully tap into the Foci and even went as far as building a prototype for the Nexus that allowed Antecea to traverse their continent-wide empire.

That was unfortunately the Logian's downfall. Their scholars and wizards were too driven. They rushed experiments and ignored safety protocols. One day, they attempted to open a portal into a pocket-dimension: one that would become their version of the Nexus. Unfortunately, they pulled too much energy from the Foci and accidentally tore open a portal into the Abyss. Demons and other dark creatures poured out and slaughtered everything in their path. The Logios Empire was not militaristically inclined and had a terrible time attempting to repel the invading demons.

In desperation, they turned to the burgeoning Antecean Empire for help, and they were far too happy to oblige. The Anteceans made short work of the demons, but when it became time for them to return to their own borders, they instead launched a full force invasion from within the Logios Empire.

The Logian's only saving grace was their extensive knowledge of the lands of the Northern Verge. Antecean forces were not present in the Verge during the Abyssal War, and the Logians were able to retreat there and fortify before the Anteceans could reach them. They fought the Anteceans to a stalemate. The Logians offered their remaining magical lore and knowledge in exchange for the handful of cities they had remaining. The Anteceans accepted, and the Logios Empire faded into obscurity.
