Lake Aberren

A deep lake sunken into the foothills of eastern Horizon. On the surface, it seems picturesque, and its bounty of fish and other marine life has allowed countless villages and hamlets to pop up along its banks, most notably the city of Fendelen.

However, the depths of this lake harbor an ancient secret of an eon's-gone civilization. Although, "gone" may be too generous a term to describe what truly lurks nearly a mile beneath the surface; "slumbering" or perhaps "waiting to return" would be a more appropriate word.
