Cato Sabjorn

Once a middling wizard of The Lunar Forum, Cato proved his tenacity and talent for combat magic on numerous dangerous expeditions into some of the most remote regions of Horizon in search of lost knowledge and hidden treasures. However, one such expedition into The Liminean Wilds saw him separated from the rest of his group. He wandered for an indeterminable amount of time before stumbling across something that would change the course of his life.
Cato somehow managed to discover (or was possibly guided there by the forest itself), the grove of the Tree of Time, which sits at the very center of the enchanted forest. He touched the trunk of the great tree and his mind was flooded with vivid visions of a world on fire; the destruction of all of time and space at the hands of a Fundamental Avatar of the cosmos. But through the death and the flames, he saw one chance at the world's salvation. He saw Shepherd and knew that the fate of the world hung on the lich's actions. The shock of this experience bleached the young wizard's hair stark white, but he survived the experience and was eventually able to find his way back to civilization.
And so, once finally free of the shade of the Liminean Wilds, Cato sought out the lich and joined him. He found it difficult to stomach the lich's dark methods, but reassured himself that this was the lesser evil and that their work would allow the world to ultimately survive. However, his confrontation with the adventuring party that opposed Shepherd eventually convinced him that he had been too narrow-minded in his interpretation of these visions. He surrendered to the party; believing instead that perhaps Shepherd needed to be brought to heel in order for him to truly save the world.
Ultimately, this proved to be true, as Shepherd and Cato proved instrumental in devising a new way of capturing Cataclysm and stopping his designs on the destruction of everything. Despite this, Cato would dedicate however much time he had left to atoning for his misguided attempts at aiding the world and inadvertantly causing more suffering than was needed. In the end, he paid his penance with his life; falling in the final battle against Cataclysm.
