The Dirges

DESCRIPTION:

This group of friends is all about the vibes. Whether in the naturally beautiful Archway Commons, starting a jam session at Bow’s End Tavern, or cheering in the Strixhaven Stadium, the Dirges are quick to vibe check any scene, acting quickly to mellow things out if they’re getting too intense.

They formed after an adored professor passed away, coming together to console affected students by playing the professor’s favourite music, concocting incense which smelt like the professor’s classroom, giving group readings of the professor's favourite texts, and holding celebrations of the professor’s life.

Whilst they each have their own artistic or athletic focus, the Dirges are quick to support any student that shares a similar passion in uplifting school spirit.

CLIQUE GOAL:

To be the life and soul of every party. Sharing music, potions, poetry, and wowing the crowds to make the student experience at Strixhaven, the best any alumni has ever had.

CLIQUE BOON:

When resting with your clique, they help you chillax. If you spend any hit die during a short or long rest, you may regain an extra 1d6 hit points. This does stack with similar features, such as a Bard’s Song of Rest.

CLIQUE FEATURE:

Your clique turns up to cheer you on! Out of combat, when performing, you have advantage on Strength (Athletics) checks, Dexterity (Acrobatics) checks, Charisma (Performance) checks, or any check based on your tool proficiency with a musical instrument.

During Combat, your clique vibe checks the enemy right where it hurts. As an action, you may make a Wisdom (Medicine) check, combining the right smells and sounds, or a Charisma (Intimidation) check, combining the right shouts and insults, to frighten creatures within a 30ft radius around you. The DC for this check is 12+ the Challenge rating of a hostile creature in that area. If there are enemies with different challenge ratings in that area, you still only roll once, but the DC for each creature is set based on their specific challenge rating.

CLIQUE BANE:

Everyone thinks you bring the mood down and wishes you weren’t around. When making a Wisdom (Perception) check, you roll with disadvantage if other students (not including player characters) are within 30ft of you, as murmured insults and nasty smells distract you.
