Lorehold Dedication

A college focused on history that fills its ranks with passionate scholars, diligent researchers and daring adventurers. Lorehold values those who dedicate their entire focus to furthering the knowledge of the college and never backing down from tough challenges. You can increase your dedication by the following means:   • Lead a research team or write a research paper.   • Go on a heroic adventure.   • Be bookish and brave!

Lorehold Activity – Field Research for Adventuring

Lorehold’s library is filled with tales of daring adventures and the challenges they faced on their journey. You can select a field research topic such as ‘Adventuring in Frozen Wastes’ and attempt to add to the Lorehold Library by exploring that environment and facing its challenges. When you return to Lorehold you gain an amount of Dedication based on events witnessed, creatures fought or locations discovered. Events can include natural or otherworldly phenomenon in the region such as volcanic explosions, dangerous flora or entrances to elemental planes. You can only gain the highest tier of dedication for each category. For example, if you find a Rare Creature and an Expected Creature you only gain dedication for the Rare Creature. You received 1 Dedication for discoveries in the left column, and 2 Dedication for the right.

Whenever you finish a long rest in a location with a library or place of study you can change these proficiencies.   In addition, you can cast the spell Identify as a ritual and can cast the spell detect magic once a day, regaining the use after a short or long rest. Intelligence is your spellcasting modifier for these spells.

Adventurer’s Heart

10 Dedication   You gain advantage on saving throws against being frightened. Whenever you succeed on a saving throw against the frightened condition, you can temporary hit points equal to your level.   In addition, you can spend 8 hours studying in a place of learning or library and analyze a region such as forests, mountains or swamps. You and any creature you travel with gain advantage on Intelligence (Investigation), Wisdom (Perception), Dexterity (Stealth) and Wisdom (Survival) checks made in the region for the next 7 days.

Diligence

25 Dedication   If you would roll disadvantage on a skill or tool checks you are proficient with, you instead roll one die. Whenever you roll a skill or tool check with advantage, if you are proficient in that skill or tool you may add an additional 1d4 to the roll.   In addition you can cast the spell legend lore once a day, regaining the use after a short or long rest. Intelligence is your spellcasting modifier for these spells.
