Arcanum Hero

Known as the "Protector of Shadows", this rare title that can only be earned and bestowed by the monarchy and deities, an Arcanum Hero is a title for the protectors who possessed dark powers that was normally uncontrollable, but they controlled it and used them to defend the weak and protect the worlds they cared most.
They are also recognized as successors of the heroes from the ancient era who founded Arcanum and Arcana City.
So far, only three people possessed this title.

Requirements

A famous trait to recognize a potential Arcanum Hero is their noble views and use of their inner darkness. More specifically, they must possess powers related to darkness or abilities that were supposed to corrupt the mind into the thoughts of evil. Yet the potential hero will resist the notion and instead either accept them as their extension or alter them to fit with their noble intentions to protect and defend.
This also extends to their motivations and views on darkness as most of them never see it as destruction and corruption as many would see it but saw it in a positive light. Though these views depend on each hero's perspective on it.

Duties

While not a mandatory one, all of the heroes tasked themselves to protect their worlds and many others they allied from any criminal or multiversal terrorist from harming them as well as keeping the balance and the Rune Masquerade from leaking through the public eyes.
In some cases for two of the heroes, the Arcanum Hero often act as representatives of the teams they formed or acts as neutral parties during a general meeting of the Council regarding some major incidents.

History

After the reemergence of the Himura line from Wakana Himura's recent vigilante actions along with her team, Fusion during an unknown incident, many of the Council grew interested of her heroics. When they met her in another large unknown incident, inspired by her strange views on darkness, they gave her the title of "Arcanum Hero".
Originally an exclusive title to her, they eventually saw another individual named Blake Nova who possessed different dark abilities, yet shared similar views on darkness as Veru. After several incidents related to him, he earned the title and Arcanum Hero became known as the protector of darkness to the masquerade.

Cultural Significance

In the Rune Masquerade, Arcanum Heroes are highly regarded by nobles and monarchy and celebrities to the younger folk. Many of the Rune-aligned government groups often turn to them whenever they encounter several strange cases that are outside of their world's logic.
In public, due to the secrecy, their reputation varies depending on their actions and their professions. If they choose so, they will sometimes act as detectives or crimefighters in public as long they retain the masquerade. In some cases, they mostly go by other titles they chose rather than their "Arcanum Hero" title depending on their reputation in public.

Notable Holders

As of 20XX, there are three Arcanum Heroes so far.
The first Arcanum Hero is Wakana "Veru" Himura, known as the "Dark Princess".
The second Arcanum Hero is Blake Nova, known as the "Shadow Twilight".
The third Arcanum Hero is Armand Vale, a descendant of the Umbra Nal and known as the "Shrouded Phantom".
