Arcadia

Arcadia is the name given to the solar system by Humans. It was named as such after the establishment of the first Mars colony, Ares. Its name is meant to invoke an image of paradise, since that is what humans made of it. Each colonized planet and moon, along with Saturn's Rings and The Asteroid Belt are all considered territories of Arcadia. The colonies within those territories are then referred to simply as colonies.

Government

Arcadia is a solar-system wide theocracy ruled by The Trinity, and by extension, The Order of the Living God. The Trinity controls everything, from inter-colony trade and travel to the law of the land (known as Universal Law). All citizens are required by law to recognize the authority of The Trinity and The Order and show subservience and reverence. If a citizen wishes to change or establish new laws, they must first be a member of The Order. Authority figures can exist outside of The Order, but they are still considered a member of the government. For example, teachers must go through The Order to become registered, and military officers have to be initiated by The Trinity themselves. Taxation is placed on every autonomous citizen of 18 years or older and is based on a percentage of their wage. Those of 18 years of age or older who are exempt from taxation include Androids/Automatons that are registered as being the property of their guardian and Cyborgs, since Cyborgs are considered property of the government.
