Magemark Card Stock

Magemark Card Stock is designed to be used with any Magemark. Though it appears as a piece of blank card stock, when the Caster enchants a sleeve of cards, they appear as the Caster desires with the designated Magemark.

A "sleeve" of Magemark Card Stock is comprised of 5 cards. Once a Magemark has provided it's effect, it vanishes.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The Caster casts any one of the Magemark spells, placing it on the card. 1 Full Action enchants the entire sleeve with 1 Magemark or 1 Full Action per Turn on each individual card.

Once the Magemark has been placed on the card, it is shared with another or stored for later use. The Card only works for the intended Subject or the Caster, who can activate it with 1 Action (as long as the Subject is in line of sight). Otherwise, it carries the same limitations as the Magemark spells, in that it is prone to Dispel effects and can be removed using Erasure.

In addition, the Caster can apply a Magemark that has been placed on the card at a range of 10ft. (Line) with a successful ranged touch attack.

Manufacturing process

Designed to hold the Magemark and store it's enchanted properties, the spell-programming for Magemark Card Stock is relatively simple, completing the task in 30 min to an Hour. A border is drawn around front and the programming is held in the back of the card. Failure indicates the loss of the card stock, salvaging 1d4 instead of 5 cards.

History

These cards were traditionally carried around by Magus and others who affiliated in groups. Sharing common signs and Magemarks, these groups used these as different indicators. Leaving the card was also seen as a "Call" sign. The language for Magemarks is in-depth- there are local and global systems for Magemarks.

Magemark Card Stock made it convenient to carry the sign, always having the symbol available when it was needed.

Significance

Different shapes and color associations of Magemarks allowed variations to emerge within the culture. Affiliations with certain Magemarks among rival groups of Casters has been cited, leading many into dangerous and futile spell combat.
