This spell is additionally known as an "Auto- Script" spell, as it is a favored utility spell amongst Alchemists.

An Amanuensis spell enchants parchment to inscribe the words of the Caster in permanent ink. Skilled Casters are able to use an Amanuensis spell to draw elaborate designs.

Effect

The Amanuensis spell enchants a loose sheet of parchment or a blank tablet to inscribe the words of the Caster onto the page. The Caster is able to perform edits, change the fonts and colors, within the duration of the spell. By speaking to the page, their words are captured with relative ease.

FOCUS: DC 10 (Standard Action per Round).

Side/Secondary Effects

A clever application of an Amanuensis spell requires more careful concentration. Amanuensis allows a Caster to draw upon the canvas, rendering images. By layering ink effects and defining line quality, a Caster can create a respectable document.

FOCUS: DC15 (The caster can try again on a failed DC but the Caster loses the time they spent on the document).

An observer will notice an animate piece of parchment inscripting the Caster's words directly to the page.

Discovery

Amanuensis is useful in the process of enchanting magical items; the spell itself can make useful tools for the Caster. Pens, quills, paper and tablets enhanced with the "Auto- Script" spell are affordable. The term "Auto- Script" is preferred in the context of spell programming, as commands within the framework of Macromancy allows for complex functions and Auto- Script can aid in the enchanting process. A whole language based on the "Auto- Script" format exists for enchanters, known as E-S-C or Enchanter's Source Code. Many Casters outside of the Macromancy House learns E-S-C to significantly enhance their documents.
