Orcs

A tall, broad and well muscled species of humanoid, the Orcs of the World Forest tend to live in small, self-sufficient tribal groups.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Orcs tend to have slightly stooped builds, grayish skin, and coarse black hair, with low foreheads, reddish eyes, and faces of porcine appearance that feature large lower canines similar to a boar's tusks. They have wolf-like ears, pointed at the ends. Orcs are roughly the same size as humans and similar humanoids, though usually larger and with heavier musculature,

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Orc's eye sight is generally slightly worse in the daylight than most humanoids but it allows them to see better in the dark than humans. Their large sensitive ears and porcine snouts are highly developed.

Major Language Groups and Dialects

Most orc tribes will have a dialect based on the Orcish language that is similar enough that speakers can be understood, their writing system uses etched lines in a variety of combinations that is somewhat similar to Dwarven runes, suggesting a possible common ancestor.

History

Before The Fall, the Orc's say they were on the edges of the old empire, holdouts who either were refused or refused themselves to be members of the empire. They lived on the fringes in thier small communities and so had the skills necessary to survive the coming of the World Forest.
