A generator can be used for things as simple as motors and the arclights or can power mighty weapons, war-constructs or bombs
The city of Gharall is well lit at all times of day, automated forges ring out and arcarriages carry people back and forth.

Social Impact

The ability to reliably generate arcane power without a trained magic user spurred on the development of many technologies, leading to the magical industry that meant that Gharall could become a bugeoning empire. The engineers created automation of manufactering processes. New and incredibly power weapons that gave soldiers power that would previously have been the preserve of magic users with decades of study.
The regular citizens had relible, cheap light sources wherever they were. Life became safer, work easier and leisure time improved.
