Silverkeeper

Silverkeeper (Arborian: /ˈtaːrfio̯rau̯/ Tarfiorau)    Luips ob fi sti teggo - the Gods give life through the tree
Silverkeeper, the keepers of silver.   Since the beginning of all that is Arboria, the Silverkeepers were those who handled the money and therefore had the power. And those who run the state- also run religion. Silverkeepers were active in every field of interest that had to do with ruling.    One of the first documented Silverkeepers, Actwin, was the one who proclaimed that the Silverkeepers were the ones closest to the Gods, and that his son Albreght should be made head priest for showing clear "abilities". Albreght had been praying under a tree for his sister to be cured from a mysterious affliction, Arborian researchers are still debating about this but assume it was sight rot. After returning from his prayers, Albreght gave his sister a drink from the well out of a golden cup, those devoutly religious in Arboria say this was the way of letting Tritia be guided into the young girl's body. Scholars who later arrived in Arboria to study in the Mystkeep have differing opinions, but usually keep them to themselves as to not offend.   Actwin made Albreght Grae A'dot, leader of the faith. But Albreght was young and foolish, and not in any sort of state to set an example of a proper religious leader. The boy was barely nineteen and could often be found in taverns drinking and dancing with scantily clad girls and foreign sailors fresh off the ship. The Arborians through the ages actually made a saying out of this: ti quiumil ti Albreght flo siu neis - as drunk as Albreght in a temple; taking one's religion not seriously and mucking about.   More succesful leaders include Adelbert, also known as Adelbert the great, who was the first of Arborians who decided it was a good idea to set sail to different lands. Seafaring was new to the Arborians, and after praying to Liudwin Adelbert got visions for a vehicle that could take them over the waves. He started drawing and sketching and was up for days creating this contraption of his, made from wood as intstructed, it had to have purple and green sails made of strong material, a place for all his people, and enough room for a small herd of goats. Adelbert started building with a group of 24 men and women, they progressed pretty quickly and after about 300 days they had a boat they were happy with. They moved it into  the ocean while the rest of the Arborians started preparing to leave the land they called home for a while. The ship did what it had to do, the sun was shining and on sailed Adelbert and the Arborians, off to look for better lands. Asti ti Adelbert scae ge breubs or lucky Adelbert on the ocean is another Arborian saying that means; having everything smoothly go your way.
