The Moon

Each night, the moon travels across the sky, gazing down at the world. While both the sun and moon have faces, only the moon's face changes over the course of time. Unlike its placid sibling, the moon's mood can be read by its expression, ranging from calm and soothing to leering, to outright malicious. Usually, the face seems to be at rest, faintly smiling and with closed eyes no matter its phase.
Things change when the moon wakes. As it stares down into the leaves, the lunar expression is an omen of what the next few nights will be.
