Dwarfs

Famously short and stout with a matching temperament, the dwarfs dig deep into the earthen wood. Even across different societies, the dwarfs have a unique knack for navigating the river systems of the world. Not limited to the courses across the bark, the dwarfs know the Inner Way; they use the xylem and phloem of the world to move trade goods. Due to their constant life on and along the rivers, most dwarf societies are set upon their flotillas of boats. Where they do settle to form true cities, however, they carve grand structures straight into the living earth. These invariably become some of the most important trading hubs across the tree.
