Mylanth

Utterly insane is how most describe Mylanth, the driver of The Inevitable the giant armored train that roars through the Great Desert at incredible speed all the while fighting off monsters and the elements all to transpoort both goods and people in and out of Arbor. The craziest thing about Mylanth is he volunteered for this job, knowing the risks and expected life span. For his part though Mylanth has exceeded all expectations driving the train for nearly 10 years now without a so much as a limb loss. He either knows something about the great desert a secret which he isn't sharing or has the devil's own luck, to hear his mad cackle as the invetible roars out of the station you'd assume the latter.

"WHY? why? well why else I was getting bored in the city with all the killing and murder I needed something to excite me in the morning " - Mylanth when asked why did he volunteer for the most dangerous job in Arbor

Appearance

Mylanth stands at about 4'5'' with mottled orangey pinky skin covered in scales. He has huge ears long with small tufts of white fur growing out of them and just around them. His eyes are a bright green taking on a dragonish appearance that many of the Scaled Beastkin are famous for. Mylanth is usually dressed in his conductors outfit white shirt and tie though for the most part when traveling through the desert he forgoes the waistcoat and simply wears the white shirt open to the elements.

Personality

To drive out into the desert knowing what's out there nearly every day Mylanth must have less than the normal amount of sanity left. However many who also take the trip passenger and crew all report that he is a happy and likeable guy seemingly always joking and laughing easily. This does unerve some passengers who feel he might be taking the desert and his role as their steward a little too lax. At the end of the ride though those that have made it through always say that he's the reason they did, he cares about those that are under his charge and his track record for people arriving safely at both ends of his journey speaks to this. Still I think some of the passengers would feel better if he didn't laugh manically when the train leaves the station.

Background

Mylanth was born in The Green like many of those of the Scaled Beastkin for the longest time he was fairly happy there from all accounts but at some point Mylanth became bored of the city underneath the city and longed to explore Arbor and its wonders. Many tales of Mylanth have spread around the city, some say he was a Green Cloak for a while fighting crime and putting down lawbreakers. Others say that he was a hit man for the Black Hands strangling people with his bare hands while emitting his signature laught. Still others say that he worked directly for the Silver Council as a spy in The Nest. How much of this is true is anyone's guess. What is true that when they were looking for a new driver for the Inevetible Mylanth was the only one to volunteer in the history of it's inception.
At this point though everyone is grateful for his continued employement at the Black Hands. in addition Mylanth has made more trips across the desert than any single individual in the history of Arbor a milestone he simply passed by and gave the smallest of waves to.
